(9) Jim Johnston & Iain McPhail - I went to the same music teacher (Chrissie Leatham) as these famous Scottish Dance Band leaders and was fortunate as a very enthusiastic 12 year old to be able to sit in and play alongside them at various B&F clubs. My first job on leaving school was working at the Craighall Recording Studio's where all Jim's LP's where recorded - still have the 1st press vinyl copies to this day.

(10) Chrissie Leatham - long before the days of Video, this is a 'one take' recording made by Chrissie on the 16th November 1940 onto an Acetate (early Parlophone78 record).
The tunes are The Laird of Drumblair / Mrs McLeod / Fairy Dance & The Mason Apron.
This picture of Chrissie is from The Edinburgh Evening News dated 2nd May 1934.
It was advertising a fund raiser in aid of The Evening News "Infirmary Shilling Appeal" which was held in the City's Capitol Theatre.
